Working with Celia Reiss on our Brooklyn kitchen makeover resulted in a beautiful customized kitchen that met our desires to upgrade our counters, and storage, yet still maintain some of our favorite old touches. Celia helped us move thru multiple drafts of cabinet configurations until we got our storage system just right. She had many useful suggestions and the Rutt Regency line she help us choose is superb! MCKB's installation crew was fantastic and the counter top subs did excellent work as well. The installation team was part of the MCKB crew and you can tell they have tight communication and work experiences together. Hany remained the primary point of contact throughout the process, including when we wanted cabinet door adjustments. Work was done on time and on schedule.
But to me, the real strength to going with a reputable firm like MCKB is that they stand behind their work. About 2 weeks after the full installation, I noticed a hairline fracture on the refrigerator panel. A quick email to Hany and replacement was ordered and reinstalled. Being a long time New York City resident ...30 years in my apartment..it was time for renovation of Kitchen and 2 Baths and all plumbing and electric wiring ... very fearful of this project I searched for a group who could actually perform - the old dream of quality within a time and budget I could anticipate. Never would I have believed things could go so well. First I met with Hany Gerges who walked me through the possibilities and expenses with various choices, he then came to the apartment and measured (accurately) .. following this there were contracts with SGC Contracting - owner Sol Kassorla . The contracts were clear and payment schedule precise. I did everything within their group - tubs/tiles with Gus in the basement and appliances with Drimmers appliances in the same location. My reasoning was that if they all worked together then delivery or problems in scheduling or measurements were all with them - not me!! Each and every worker who came to the building was professional and polite to everyone and not one complaint from my neighbors. The contract was for 6/15 to 9/15 TODAY !! And they are finished !! We recently undertook a complete gut renovation of our small kitchen by MCKB. This was one of many renovation projects for us, so we have had extensive experience with other contractors. This was our second project with MCKB. Every aspect of the project, from planning with Hany, to its execution with Meryl and Lori, was flawless. Hany listened carefully to our ideas and helped us design a kitchen to expand our storage space dramatically while respecting our own sense of design. He thoughtfully planned every detail.
There were no "surprises" at any point in the project. The timeline was met and communication was excellent. The tradesmen who worked in our apartment were considerate of the building regulations and were very careful to protect the work area. All of their work was done beautifully and was up to code. Our input during the project was always considered and a few punch list items were corrected. The result is a beautiful and functional kitchen.
